π₯© Ingredients:
For the Beef:
- 400β500g beef (thinly sliced, flank or boneless)
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp cornflour
- Β½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
For the Stir-Fry:
- 3 cups cabbage (shredded)
- 1 onion (sliced)
- 4β5 cloves garlic (sliced)
- 2 tbsp oil
πΆ Savory Soy Glaze:
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
- 1 tbsp honey or brown sugar
- 1 tsp vinegar or lemon juice
- Β½ tsp chili flakes (optional)
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 tsp cornflour (for thickening)
π©βπ³ Instructions:
1. Marinate the Beef
- Mix beef with soy sauce, cornflour, pepper, and ginger-garlic
- Let it sit for 15β20 minutes
2. Sear the Beef
- Heat a wok or pan until very hot
- Add 1 tbsp oil and cook beef on high heat
- Stir-fry for 2β3 minutes until browned
- Remove and set aside
3. Caramelize the Cabbage
- In the same wok, add remaining oil
- Toss in garlic and onion, sautΓ© until fragrant
- Add cabbage and cook on high heat
- Let it slightly char and caramelize (donβt over-stir!)
4. Make the Glaze
- Mix all glaze ingredients in a bowl
- Pour into the wok with cabbage
- Stir until it thickens slightly
5. Combine & Finish
- Add beef back to the wok
- Toss everything together for 1β2 minutes
- Cook until glossy and well coated

- Steamed rice or fried rice
- Noodles or even roti for a fusion twist

- High heat = authentic wok flavor (βsmokyβ taste)
- Donβt overcrowd the pan or beef will steam instead of sear
- Add bell peppers or carrots for extra crunch
- A splash of sesame oil at the end boosts aroma π
