🧾 Ingredients
- 1 cup (200g) dark chocolate chips
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 eggs (room temperature)
- ¾ cup (150g) sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup (60g) all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- Optional: ½ cup extra chocolate chips or chunks
👩🍳 Instructions
- Melt chocolate
- In a bowl, melt chocolate chips + butter (microwave in 20-sec bursts or double boiler).
- Stir until smooth, then let it cool slightly.
- Whip eggs & sugar
- In another bowl, beat eggs + sugar for 2–3 minutes until thick and slightly fluffy.
- Mix in vanilla extract.
- Combine
- Slowly fold the melted chocolate into the egg mixture.
- Add dry ingredients
- Sift in flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gently fold until combined (don’t overmix).
- Add extras
- Fold in extra chocolate chips if using.
- Chill (important!)
- Chill dough for 20–30 minutes so it thickens.
- Bake
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Scoop small portions onto lined tray (they spread!).
- Bake for 8–10 minutes.
- Cool
- Let cookies cool on tray for 5 minutes before moving.
🔥 Tips
- Don’t overbake—they should look slightly underdone in the center.
- For extra crackly tops, beat eggs + sugar well.
- Sprinkle a little sea salt on top for a bakery-style finish.
