Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1½ cups rolled oats (old-fashioned)
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder (unsweetened)
  • ¼ cup maple syrup or honey
  • ¼ cup milk (any kind)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup dark chocolate chips (optional but encouraged)

Optional Boosts

  • 1 tbsp chia or flax seeds
  • 2 tbsp nut butter (peanut or almond = extra fudgy)
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon or espresso powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line or lightly grease an 8×8 pan.
  2. Mash bananas in a large bowl until smooth.
  3. Mix in maple syrup, milk, and vanilla.
  4. Stir in oats, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until fully combined.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips and any optional add-ins.
  6. Spread evenly into the pan.
  7. Bake 22–26 minutes until set but still soft in the center (don’t overbake!).
  8. Cool slightly, slice, and enjoy ✨
