🧀 Air Fryer Cheese Toast
Time: ~5–7 minutes
Serves: 1 (scale as needed)
Ingredients
- 1–2 slices bread (white, sourdough, or sandwich bread)
- Butter or mayo (mayo = extra crispy, trust me)
- ½–¾ cup shredded cheese
Cheddar, mozzarella, Colby-Jack, or a mix - Optional toppings (highly encouraged):
- Garlic powder or minced garlic
- Black pepper
- Chili flakes
- Dried oregano or Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat air fryer to 180°C / 360°F (optional but helps).
- Spread butter or mayo on one side of the bread.
- Place bread butter-side down in the air fryer basket.
- Pile on the cheese (don’t be shy, but keep it on the bread so it doesn’t drip everywhere).
- Add any toppings you like.
- Air fry 5–7 minutes, until:
- Cheese is melted and bubbly
- Edges are golden and crisp
👉 Check at 5 minutes — air fryers vary and cheese goes from perfect to “whoops” fast.
Pro Tips
- For extra gooey: add a little mozzarella.
- For extra flavor: mix cheddar + parmesan.
- If the top browns too fast, drop the temp to 170°C / 340°F for the last minute.
