🤍 Creamy White Chocolate Mousse
Ingredients (Serves 4–6)
- 8 oz (225g) white chocolate, chopped
- 1½ cups (360ml) heavy whipping cream, cold (divided)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Optional toppings:
Fresh berries, whipped cream, white chocolate shavings, or crushed cookies
Instructions
1️⃣ Melt the chocolate
Place chopped white chocolate in a heatproof bowl.
Heat ½ cup of the heavy cream until just steaming (not boiling).
Pour over the chocolate and let sit 1–2 minutes.
Stir until completely smooth.
Stir in vanilla and a pinch of salt.
Let cool to room temperature (but not set).
2️⃣ Whip the cream
In a separate bowl, beat the remaining 1 cup cold heavy cream until soft peaks form.
3️⃣ Fold gently
Add one-third of the whipped cream into the cooled chocolate mixture to lighten it.
Then gently fold in the remaining whipped cream until fully combined and fluffy.
Do not overmix.
4️⃣ Chill
Spoon into serving glasses.
Refrigerate at least 2 hours (or up to overnight) until set.
🍓 Serving Ideas
- Top with raspberries or strawberries
- Add a drizzle of melted dark chocolate
- Sprinkle crushed pistachios
- Layer with crushed cookies for a parfait
🔥 Tips for Perfect Texture
- Use good-quality white chocolate (cheap versions can seize or turn grainy).
- Make sure chocolate cools before folding or it will deflate the whipped cream.
- For extra stability, you can fold in 2 oz softened cream cheese with the melted chocolate.
